ANANDES

Gracing the highest point of Mykonos’ entrancing chora, overlooking it’s glaring white houses and the breathtaking view of the Aegean sea, Anandes hotel arrived with high hopes for defining the new Cycladic chic style.
Combining confident taste and creativity, Studio Bonarchi observes the island’s rich traditional elements through a contemporary, ablative lens, blending them harmoniously with avant garde pieces of contemporary design.
Organic forms dressed in luminous white contrasted with authentic natural materials in dark shades compose spaces with a strong visual impact.
Custom furniture drawning inspiration from iconic Greek fixtures of the past, partnered with exquisite sculptural lighting items generate a feeling of uniqueness for the visitor of Anandes.
Outstanding furniture and art pieces coming from the international scene have been selected, thus bringing to A n a n d e s a certain air of eclecticism.
Upon entering the hotel, guests are welcomed by custom light fixtures from French sculptor and artist, Philippe Antonioz, with the lobby slowly unfolding into the terrace to reveal the vast ocean view that truly sets Anandes apart. The hotel features custom artworks from artists including Richard Serra and Thomas Houseago, each complementing its sophisticated Cycladic aesthetic.
In the lobby fireplace, the two organic shaped Pierre Augustin Rose sofas co-exist with the handmade coffee table Demeter created by the famous French duo Gilles et Boissier while the Beaune lamp by Thierry Lemaire complements the synthesis. Lighting pieces hold a protagonist role to the interiors look and feel. When entering the lobby, pendant light “ Fingi ” by Eric Schmidt stands as a sculpture above the custom reception desk.
Splashes of Navy blue color, either on wide surfaces or stylishly placed on discreet details here and there, reflect upon the wealth of the Cycladic island’s naval legacy.
The rooms are dominated by real stone, embossed pine, linen fabrics, and bronze details in a dark patina. This abundant approach forges a palette of contrasts in a creative dialogue with the view of the sea and the city of Mykonos.
Glimpses of mid century design, meticulously placed in the interiors, are a nod to the jet setters of the past and the allure of their cosmopolitan lifestyle which still holds a fascination to this era’s globetrotters.
